3.6.3 Describe methods of recovery from an error.

Re-input, re-transmission and restoring

Re-input and re-transmission are logical enough.

In terms of backup, note that back-ups can be "live", as with mirrored systems, they can be not live, but very regular, like the Mac OS 10.5 operating system's Time Machine, or they can be done in a batch sort of way with end-of-day tape back up. The policy of having off-site back-ups is important, as noted in the textbook.
