- It is best to stick with name brands you recognize.
- As with most things, you get what you pay for.
- If considering buying a Mac, both of the above statements apply.
Year after year, Macs consistently place at the top of customer satisfaction surveys,
but they are pricier than most Windows PCs.
- For desktop computers, the numbers above will be larger.
In-class Activity:
- Look up, on your own, the most "bomba" laptop for under $1250 USD.
- The go to what is likely the single best link for this sort of IT reasrch: www.cnet.com. Once there, click Reviews, and then look for the Specifications section. Sticking with "Editors Choice" is always a good bet.
- And after doing this for a while, it would not be a bad thing at all to remind ourselves that not everyone can afford a $1250 USD laptop. Go to the One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) site, at http://laptop.org/ - it's a very cool, and very worthwhile project I'm sure you'll agree. And not bad laptops for under $200 USD.
